Well finally, I have finalised at least some of my plans. But they are still up in the air somewhat.
I fly to Singapore Tuesday evening, April 25. And I have a return flight to London from Beijing on 6th July. The return flight, is so I can get visas etc. but I would prefer to do the following: Fly from Singapore to Viet Nam (Ho Chi Min City (Saigon)) go up north through Viet Nam to Hong Kong. Meet Asabe, a friend of mine who lives there and whom I have been promising to visit for years. Then see Macau and head to China by boat or some other means. Head up along the coast through China to Beijing. Cancel my flight from there, if all proves ok. Then get Trans-Siberia train from Vladivostok to Moscow. If I can get to Warsaw by 30Jun then I will stay for a girls' weekend in Warsaw with the ICR team using my alias, Helga Knofflepopper. After that meander around Eastern Europe, Croatia, Estonia, or god knows where and if I can then meet up with Jo and/or Sue or anyone else that might be coming over that direction.
That is the plan, sort of. However, I am travelling to Asia at the worst time of year so a lot depends on how I feel when I get there and what the weather is like. If the humidity is too high then I will have to change tack and veer off to different parts of the countries I want to visit or go elsewhere e.g. East Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak or Borneo, Brunei. Or even skip Asia. Not sure what I will do then but I’m sure I will get some inspiration. Maybe Iran or Iraq. Ok only joking!!

The job is still on the cards but the offer letter has not arrived. They are going through a merger so all paper work and HR stuff is taking ages. So the longer they take, the longer I will have off. Result!!! I told them I have 3 months notice, which was true but I quit and was left off early much to my surprise. The agency contacts me most weeks to say things are progressing. I know the agency is getting nervous but I had a good feeling on this and I feel it's ok.
Got horrid malaria tabs today and lots of vaccines a few days ago. Have to get 6 in all. 3 in one (Diphtheria, Polio and Tetanus), as well as Hepatitis A and Typhoid. I still have to get Japanese Encephalitis. Yuck. I can’t believe it is over 10 years since I got the last lot.

Step 1: Decide on where the hell to go. Hong Kong is definitely on my list of places to go. Macau is near Hong Kong so have decided to go there too. The rest I am still deciding on.
